I have been training vigorously for a triathlon. My times have improved, my distances have lengthened. I can now complete a half tri! Yes, that is great. Yay for me. Call me greedy but I want the whole thing. I want to drag my blistered self across that finish line just to say, "I did it bitches!" What does that mean? That means I am crazy enough to touture myself continuously until I compete in September. Don't you worry. It's good for me. When that day comes fans will be appreciated. Maybe someday I will compete in an Ironman... ha!
For those that don't know, an Ironman triathlon is twice the distance of a sprint triathlon: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, & 26.2 marathon run. A sprint distance triathlon like the one I will be in consists of a .9 mile swim, 24.5 mile bike, & 6.2 mile run. Piece of cake.

I Just Wanna Be a Rockstar
Public service announcement: don't get bitten by a cat!! Really. Long story but while trying to save a cat from the jaws of my curious puppy I was bitten multiple times. Not that bad under normal circumstances but this dirty rodent infected my bones making two fingers on my left hand swell and lock out. I tell you this because it has been 4 long weeks with minimal use of those fingers. Therefore, I have not been able to practice my guitar. Before my decision to revamp my life, I had countless opportunities to play, but didn't. Now that I can't, I am kinda sad. What have I learned? Well, I have learned to be grateful for the small stuff, like fingers. I should be back to normal in a few days and you bet I will be back to the grind.
Dance Dance Dud
Dancing... The lessons took off to a great start then my teacher quit. No explanation, just disappeared. I still intend to learn, though now I will likely need to go to a professional studio. Depending on my options, I would prefer to do a hip hop or break dance class. Oh yeah, I am excited. It will end up better this way. It always does.

Dance Dance
I learned how to waltz yesterday, and polka. Kind of. My good friend and teacher said, "I had my moments". Basically, I failed to hold the rythmn and she is too kind to hurt my feelings ; ) Nonetheless, I had a great time and I can't wait until our next lesson. Dancing is fun and I like to learn new things. From what I understand the next lesson involves ballet... We will see.

Triathlete
Last week I started training for a triathlon. At Lifetime Fitness (the gym I work at) I am coincidentally organizing an indoor tri for the members. It consists of a 30 minute cycle, 10 minute swim, and a 20 minute run. Performance is determined by distance covered in each leg. Essentially, you would sprint each leg. So far I have completed it three times as training for an actual full length tri. I plan to do it twice per week (in addition to strength training) for the next two weeks and then increase the time on each leg until I can complete a full length triathlon. Wish me speed.

Jump
This June I am going on vacation to Colorado where I will skydive for the first time. It seems that I might be the only one from the group that is willing but who cares. I am certain it will be a blast not soon forgotten. I plan to film the jump so I can share the full experience. Stay tuned...

Play Guitar Today!
It's official, I am serious. I bought a dvd called Play Guitar Today, and I did. I learned five short 3-6 note songs from the booklet and it sounded diappointing. Probably because I really want to play Pantera and I only know how to play Ode To Joy. Not to worry. It just took me 45 minutes to learn 6 notes and apply them. I am optimistic. I will be shredding in no time; at least if what Doug Boduch and Proline Publications promises holds true. At this pace I might be able to close the year singing and playing guitar in front of people, or at least person.
